I think the average amount of sugar that needs to be consumed per day may vary from country to country. In my case, our nutritionist said that on average, we should consume 5-8 teaspoon worth of sugar to maintain a healthy balance of diet. This applies to both men and women.
Any more in excess of that should be avoided as much as possible. Nutrition facts are actually fun. That is, if you remember them all the time.
Did you know that a 12oz soda already contains 7 teaspoon worth of sugar? Imagine consuming one. What about breakfast, lunch and dinner? You will go beyond the maximum limit per day by consuming even just one 12oz soda. Imagine, if you gobble up 2 bottles? LOL.
Nowadays, I see more and more people getting conscious with their health. Too much sugar can lead to so many possible diseases like diabetes, heart disease and worse, obesity.
If ever you go beyond the sugar limit, you can compensate that by burning them through exercise. Yep. You read it right.
My mindset when it comes to this is that I will always exercise in order to eat. Diet alone won’t suffice losing weight and removing those unnecessary sugar. Burning them is the way to go. I always make it a point that I get to exercise so that when situations may arise where tempting food is shown in front of me, I will not have second thoughts about consuming them.
Our body needs sugar. Anything too much, whether fruits, vegetables or other so called healthy food is never good and never healthy. It is always good practice to eat anything at a minimum.
