Smorty Is Dead
Well, it has been like more than 2 weeks now. I guess Smorty is really dead. And they still have not paid me since last year when my last payment was sent May 2011.
It sucks. But, there is nothing I can do about it. They totally screwed us bloggers. After all, 8 months and counting is too long for a wait for any blogger to expect payment.
And when I noticed that I could not access the domain anymore, I knew something was not right. 2 weeks more and I can conclude that Smorty is officially dead.
Their site still is online since it can be accessed through its IP address but this is the same as the site being gone for good. Sigh … I did manage to earn a little from them. But it hurts more not being paid while their posts are alive in my blog.
I will probably give it another month and see if anything happens. If there is still no activity or update from them, I will have to take all the posts I did for them down.

I was one of the few members of Smorty when the company first started. I think that was back in late 2006 or early 2007. The company was able to pay me good and the other members. The last time I visited Smorty was years ago, so I became inactive. There were not much tasks to do and write anymore. I heard many bloggers are not actively doing tasks anymore. I have not visited the site for a long time. I’m not even sure I remember my password there.

I stopped working for smorty in 2010 or so. I never got a single tasks anymore. Back in 2007/2008 they were great, I had a lot of tasks and they paid me on time. I wonder what happened to them.

@tany: probably went bankrupt. they still owe me a lot.

I stopped using them when the tasks dried up for me in around 2009. I now make most of my money from Sponsored Reviews.
