DC Showcase Presents: Green Arrow is an animated short that comes with the DVD release of the movie Superman/Batman: Apocalypse. The short movie featured some villainous characters but the fights were short including one rival archer called Merlyn who looks like a cross between Green Arrow’s archery skills with a costume of Marvel Shield’s commander Nick Fury.
The Green Arrow in this movie was nicely drawn but I cannot say the same for Black Canary whose costume I just did not like. Still, this was a great animated short. Now … I cannot wait in 2 months time for DC’s next upcoming short featuring Captain Marvel, Superman and Black Adam.
Do not miss this if you have not seen it yet.
June Havens (Cameron Diaz) finds her everyday life tangled with that of a secret agent who has realized he is not supposed to survive his latest mission. As their campaign to stay alive stretches across the globe, they soon learn that all they can count on is each other.
The start of the movie was a bit dragging but once Cruise started hitting on a surprisingly almost empty flight with a few enemies in sight, he and Cameron embark on an action adventure due in part to a battery that even an FBI agent gone bad wants.
There were a few funny scenes and the movie is actually good except the part wherein Cruise went over to Cameron and kissed her while shots were fired by the enemies. I mean … come on! Scenes like those are just lame. Make it real at least! The other thing was that during the course of the movie, it kept me thinking if Cruise was a bad guy or not. But we know that already right? Since he is the lead character after all. Still, his character there was really mysterious that I have no idea who to root for.
Anyway, this is a decent action comedy movie. Nothing spectacular to be a blockbuster. Only thing that made this real spectacular was the fact that Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz star in this movie.
